New procedures in place to avoid disaster food assistance lines in South Florida

Hoping to avoid the massive lines that overwhelmed authorities and frustrated residents weeks after Hurricane Irma, a new procedure has been set in place when the disaster food assistance program opens again in Miami-Dade and Broward County on Nov. 7-9

Good grief. Irma came through September 9th. Still servicing the gimme dats two months later?!?!

Anyone who isn’t dead, apparently has figured out how to forage for food themselves. Shut it down.

I don’t get it, at the first of every month their cards are reloaded for the month, that’s Oct. and Nov. why are they still doing this??? Our tax dollars at work ladies and gents..

      • EarnitYourself

Good point. This is pure gimme dats.

Those who already get EBT don’t qualify for this. And not everyone’s card gets loaded first of the month. Refill date depends on numbers on your card. Our card doesn’t refill until near end of the month. However, we did get some benefit earlier after the storm, but nowhere near the $600 these people could get.

I heard on the news that this is NOT for people already on food stamps.

What I don’t get is this….. they don’t allow chairs now. How are the elderly, disabled or ill supposed to get them. They are the ones that really need them. This is a fucking joke run by the state as usual.

Just saw on news, the disabled has their own line. Everyone else gets to stand there for hours. It might rain soon. Could be interesting.

THere more people at the BBT center today than have been at the Panthers games all year. Maybe the Panthers should be selling EBT….
